scroll down for forthcoming Oasis Get Togethers, Events and Kalash Performances as well as other local workshops/haflahs and national bellydance events Next Oasis Get Together Saturday 25th September 1:30 - 4:30 @ Tiverton Leisure Centre Tribal Intensive - FatChance Format Since our very first Oasis Get Together, in December 2008, Oasis has gone from strength to strength and we are delighted to see that the idea is catching on both here in the UK as well as the US. Just to recap for anyone new to the concept of Oasis we originally set up a peer group to teach ourselves American Tribal Style bellydance using the FatChanceBellyDance dvd’s because we had no teacher and live in a bit of an ATS desert. It seems there are many others in the same boat so we thought we should get together and create a little ATS oasis here in the South West. The idea is to get together four times a year for 3 hours and just dance our socks off, go over things we’re not sure of, practise fades, transitions, leading, following cues, chorus work and so on - whatever we want or need or just can’t do without having other dancers to dance with. A knowledge of basic ATS steps is required but we are able to work in small groups and can accommodate dancers of all skill levels whether it is reinforcing basic steps or working together in complicated combos, formations and partnerwork.
